WE ARE HERE TO INSPIRE EACH OTHER

About the Artist

SALETE DA ROSA IS A BRAZILIAN ARTIST, CURRENTLY LIVING IN THE OKANAGAN VALLEY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA. HER LIFE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ADVENTURE AND IT CONTINUES TO AMAZE HER.

SALETE'S LOVE FOR ART BEGAN IN BRAZIL WHERE SHE WAS INSPIRED BY HER MOTHER AND FAMILY.  SHE HAS BEEN CREATING ART AS LONG AS SHE CAN REMEMBER. MUSIC, DANCE, NATURE, AND FAMILY BRINGS OUT HER JOY AND PASSIONATE SPIRIT THAT SHE TRANSFORMS ON TO CANVAS.

Best known for her use of colour, mixed media, oils, and palette knife. Salete uses bold brush strokes, colourful patterns, and creates beautiful painted imagery. This is reflected in her Impressionism paintings. She loves painting people and nature because there is a history and a story to tell.

Salete is grateful for the warm embrace of the arts community in Kelowna where she is inspired to focus on her passion. An artist is always learning new techniques and the arts community in the Okanagan is very exciting. Salete participates in workshops with various artists and is inspired by the creative energy around her, much like that of her family.

"Love of beauty is taste.   The creation of beauty is art."

~ Ralph Emerson Waldo ~

You can see Salete at the Kelowna Palette Club, and with her mentor Dennis Weber at Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna, where she works on her art. She is also a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and its Okanagan Chapter.

She also loves painting in her cozy studio, at her home.
